Aluminum chlorohydrate (ACH) is an inorganic polymer compound with the molecular formula Al2(OH)5Cl. The appearance is white solid powder, easily soluble in water, and its solution is a colorless transparent liquid with a specific gravity of 1.33-1.35g/ml (20°C), and has certain corrosiveness. Aluminium chlorohydrate has excellent flocculation ability and can form colloid.
The alumina content in liquid ACH is more than 23%, and the alumina content in solid ACH is generally 46%-50%. ACH has strong bridging and adsorption properties, and is easily soluble in water. The hydrolysis process is accompanied by physical and chemical processes such as electrochemistry, coagulation, adsorption and precipitation.
What is Aluminum Chlorohydrate (ACH) Used For?
- Water treatment. Aluminium chlorohydrate can be used as a coagulant for drinking water treatment, industrial waste water treatment and paper making industry;
- Cosmetic industry. It can be used as cosmetic raw materials.
Pulp and paper manufacturing. ACH can be used as sizing precipitants, crosslinking agents, dimensional binders, anionic trash removers, retention and drainage aids, resin barrier control additives.
Additives for graphite products. The aluminum chlorohydroxide liquid is added to graphite products to increase the aluminum content and enhance the physical and chemical properties of graphite products such as fire resistance.
Others. precision casting mold as coagulant and flame retardant. Decolorization of printing and dyeing wastewater; pharmaceutical, rubber, leather, petroleum, chemical industries, etc.
